    Event: Lorraine's Nightmare Event

    http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Lorraine%27s_Nightmare_Event

(Read Lorraine's Nightmare Event Strategy guide below)

so basically gather 4-6 people to enter the Dungeon. It will take place outside a Guild Castle. Once you enter, All of your stats are reset while inside the dungeon. Talk to Marcellus, the Male NPC, to pick a class you will play as:
    1. Warrior/Fighter
    2. Mage/Bard
    3. Alchemist/Ranger

only 2 characters are allowed per class. To level up skills, you need to pay gold, which is gained by killing zombies and their drops (you also start out with ~6) All classes start off with some pots, 5 firewood, and 3 ice mines (i do not remember the power of it)

    1.) Warrior/Fighter
Starts off with War sword + Wooden Shield, and Hobnail Knuckle. All Fighter and Combat skills (excluding Range skills) are set at Rank B. Bolt spells are Rank F while Mana Shield is Rank B

    2.)Mage/Bard
I have not played this class yet so info maybe off. You start off with Trinity Staff and Lyre (I think its Lyre =\). All Mage and Bard skills are Rank B.

    3.) Alchemist/Ranger
Starts off with Crossbow+1000 bolts and cylinder (no shield). All Alchemy and Range skills are Rank B (except Range attack. You need to switch weapons to Crossbow to get it at Rank F). You get 1 stack of all elemental alchemy crystals in addition to Life Drain. Bolt spells are also Rank F like Warrior/Fighter. Edited on Aug 24th 2012: Specific alchemy crystals like Barrier spike crystal has been added to Lorraine's shop. Therefore those skills maybe used now.

    Strategy:
The general strategy of this dungeon is to defend against zombies from reaching the castle. Your castle has 50HP and for every zombies that reaches the checkpoint at the castle gates reduces its HP by 1. At Points of the Rounds, A boss will appear (like Ghastly Demi Lich at Round 3). If you think this is cake walk as it is zombies, think again. Zombies run at equal speeds like the zombies in Glowing Dungeons of Karu, not walk.

To defend, typically Mages and Alchemists use Ice Spear and Flame Burst/Heat Buster to clear the Bunches while Warriors clean up the weak ones. Warriors have the hardest time in this Dungeon as the Zombies AI places priority on getting to the Castle and rarely ever aggros the player. Also, the damage output and efficiency of windmill and Smash is poor in this situation.

    Updates:
    1.) Rafting
Rafting has been Revamped. Rafting no longer has the Raft Crafting Option. According to the NPC, I was told that solo rafting requires you to pay the 5k fee while rafting with 2 or more people will remove this fee. I did a test and i got in for free but that may be for first try. Also the stars that is gained through rafting now turn into items once you talk to the natives at the checkpoints. it is still one star per kill when solo (24 stars -> 24 star item). Elephant statue is in the rafting store in place of the exploration exp you receive at checkpoints. to counter the reduced amount of exploration exp, every hobgoblin kill gets you 50 explore exp.

    2.) Beauty Shop
No new cosmetics has been added. New Incubus Siren Outfit has been added. Also, Vanalen Rain Slicker, Sailor Uniform, Frilly Nightgown and Bear PJ have been added (temporary items). Those are most likely not going to be re-released for special character cards.

    3.) Winemaking
Lezzaro and Eluned got to gether (what?) and had a chat with the Commerce Imps to let us access the winery from the commerce points. The Imps themselves will also sell the grapes of Lezzaro and Eluned Winery.

    4.) Reforge Tools
2 New Reforge Tools have been added into the Cash Shop.
*Level is the power of Reforge. Rank is the limit of power of reforge.*
**ex. Rank 3 will limit most reforges at level 3 while Rank 1 will limit most reforges at level 20**

    Credne's Reforge Tool
Usable on items with existing reforges, while able to increase the level of reforges (ranks of reforges, not the level of reforges)

    Fine Reforge Tool
Usable on items with existing reforges, however will not increase the rank of reforge (chances to decrease rank remains the same)

    5.) Secondary Password
Once you log in, there is now a screen keyboard you have to press for a second password. Please on first log in after August 23rd pay extreme attention on pressing the screen keyboard to avoid misclicking and produce an error on your secondary password. Forums have had concern with this as people have made mistakes and a secondary password change has not yet been implemented yet.

Teoh will be our intel specialist from now on. \o\

So for the event dungeon, I can get my stats wiped and experience the life of a pro "x." I suppose that'll be interesting. As for the rafting change, I think it isn't too bad, despite CS still failing on me. Managed to get 12 levels in a single run versus 10 prior to the update.

I believe that only the OP (in this case you) is allowed to see their own links they have posted. If you try viewing the link in guest mode (signed off), it will revert back to "admin only." As for me, your link still reads "admin only."

Okie, Glaed and I tried to figure out how to disable that or fix it... but the admin panel is very complicated because there are a lot of features to go through. If any one of you are good in administrating forums (or would like to), who would like to become an Admin and help us look through the panel?

Teoh, the Disable HTML box was checked before. If it was either "checked" or "unchecked", some of the people couldn't view the link anyways (except for you and admins).

My guess is that we tried to change the settings where ALL group members can view the link, instead of the post owner and admins only. That is why I'm asking if any one would like to be an Admin to look through the panel and find what we can do to fix this. Cus Glaed and I are out of options.

    Lorraine's Nightmare Event Strategy Guide
    Teoh's Intel: August 23rd 2012 Update Nightmareevent

The arrows pointing in the map are the directions the mobs will run from. They run from 2 different spawn locations (if not, then maybe one).
    Parties will need to have: 2 Alchemist/Ranger, 2 Mage/Bard and 2 Warrior/Fighter

The plan is to have the 2 Alchemist/Ranger's stand upfront from the directions where the zombies will run from and spam Flameburst/Heatbuster from incoming zombies to hold some of them back.

The other 2 Mage/Bard's will stand behind the Alchemist/Ranger's and spam Ice Spear (or Thunder if you get Rank 1. I suggest not using Fireball, as it takes time to fully charge and you don't have time to cast at running zombies).

The 2 Warrior/Fighter's will remain by the Guild Castle and alternately spam Windmill at the weak zombies from reaching the Base Point. All the Warrior/Fighter's have to do is STAND by the entrance and take turns alternating Windmill. You do NOT have to run around killing the other standby zombies because you will leave a spot open and have the running zombies reach the Base Point. Zombies run in one path and they do not scatter around much. So ignore the bunch's and only Windmill when a zombie is running towards the Base Point.

    • I heard that if you have a Giant in your party, using Stomp is also useful when at Rank 1. It helps hold the grouped zombies back while Mages/Bard cast Ice Spear or Thunder. Though I haven't seen it in action yet.
    • Setting up Ice Mines also help as well, as it will freeze incoming mobs. Therefore, given the chance to Flameburst and cast Ice Spear or Thunder.

Remember, your class skills are resetted so it won't do much damage for the first few rounds. You have to build up your skills when your in Idle mode after each rounds (by visiting Marcellus and upgrading your skills by spending gold).

Here is the general idea of what skills to upgrade:
1.) Warrior/Fighter: Windmill Rank 1, Sword Mastery Rank 1, Combat Mastery Rank 1 and Critical Hit Rank 1.
2.) Mage/Bard: Ice Spear Rank 1, Meditation Rank 1, Ice Mastery Rank 1, Thunder Rank 1, Lightning Mastery Rank 1.
3.) Alchemist/Ranger: Flameburst Rank 1, Heatbuster Rank 1, Chain Cast Rank 1, Fire Alchemy Mastery Rank 1.
You can rank other skills as well that will help you throughout the rounds. You do not only have to stick with these skills listed here, but this is just a general start up.

There are 7 rounds total, with 3 different Lich bosses you will face at Points of the Round (the white dot in the map shown above is the location where the Lich bosses spawn):
    Round 1
    • Ghastly Zombies

    Round 2
    • Ghastly Zombies + Ghastly Zombie Soldiers

    Round 3
    • Ghastly Zombies + Ghastly Zombie Soldiers
    Boss: Ghastly Demi Lich
    • Summons: Ghastly Ghosts

    Round 4
    • Ghastly Stone Zombies + Ghastly Snow Zombies

    Round 5
    • Ghastly Stone Zombies + Ghastly Snow Zombies
    Boss: Ghastly Master Lich
    • Summons: Ghastly Ghasts, Ghastly Red Ghasts, Ghastly Blue Ghasts

    Round 6
    • Ghastly Bandersnatches + Ghastly Gray Prison Zombies + Ghastly Black Prison
    • Zombies + Ghastly White Prison Zombies + Ghastly Volatile Zombies

    Round 7
    • Ghastly Bandersnatches + Ghastly Gray Prison Zombies + Ghastly Black Prison
    • Zombies + Ghastly White Prison Zombies + Ghastly Volatile Zombies
    Boss: Ghastly Arc Lich
    • Summons: Ghastly Bomb Steeds

Hope this strategy helps to some members who will participate in this event. It's fun when your running with a party of friends or guildies. If you have a new battle strategy of this event, please feel free to post below and share your ideas.
